Why would we want to become “His?”
We have to ask ourselves this question because it will be relevant to how we respond to Jesus.
Too many people just want fire insurance or they want to be blessed in their work, home life and material possessions.
The real reward of truly becoming “His” isn’t in escaping hell or being blessed with a comfortable life of things that will all pass away. No!
It is the joy that we have that can never be taken away.
It is the peace that surpasses all understanding.
It is the closest relationship ever possible.
It is the deepest love that has ever existed.
It is the transcendence into another place that goes beyond and above anything you have ever known.
It is a connection so fused that all is one.
It is an existence in a higher plain.
It is a belonging that doesn’t even remember not belonging. and where time does not exist.
Just being “His”
If you can allow yourself to venture further than the known to see only love, to know only love, to be swallowed with goodness, engulfed with peace and time doesn’t exist.
If you can imaging yourself being connected as one belonging, as one in existence and at the center is God, His love, and light; which isn’t produced but just is.
As you venture there and see that you have only love so overwhelming to think of it just brings you to tears of happiness, joy, and peace.
Now, realizing this entire exercise isn’t even about us. It’s about a being, a God, the God, the only God, the one true God that is worthy of our praise, honor, worship, and glory.
He is the creator of all that was, is, and will be. Long, long after this world has passed away, His praise is continuing because all we know is love. That being “His” is all that is ever desired and that desire fulfilled.
Our journey, our process, our relationship with Jesus would look so much more different than if we were simply looking for fire insurance or blessings in this very short span of 80 something years.
So now, ask yourself the same question again. Why do you want to become “His?”
I have a certainty you would want to surrender all to Him, and the process, the journey will be so much sweeter.
Prayer
God, thank you for your love for me. I thank you for your presence. I believe you are the one true God. I believe that Jesus Christ is your son who came down to earth as a baby through the virgin Mary. I believe that Jesus was one hundred percent God and one hundred percent human. I believe in God the Father, Jesus the son, and the Holy Spirit in the trinity. I believe that Jesus died for my sins on the cross and was buried. I believe He rose on the third day. He rose into glory and now sits on the right hand side of God the Father. He made atonement for my sins. I ask Him to be my Lord and Savior. I ask for the Holy Spirit to dwell richly in me. I surrender all I was, all I am and all I will be into your hands of mercy and grace. Forgive me for all my sins. May I walk in the freedom of Christ and may I dwell in the house of the Lord forever more. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen!
